Summary of ladies Football in Clonmore 2011-10-24

Due to lack of numbers in both Naomh Labhaoise Cluain Mhor and Ballyhegan Davitts,it was decided at a Armagh ladies county board meeting in  Feb that both clubs would amalgamate under the name of St Brigids for the sake of providing underage ladies football in both areas.This was ratified by James Mc Bennett of Clonmore and Keiran Mc keever of Ballyhegan.

Teams entered were u13,16 and 18.

U 13 team in their first year played a total of 8 games but were in a very strong North league.All of the squad are underage again this year and the experiences gained will be invaluable

Clonmore representatives on this team included Alanna Hamilton,Emily Mullan,Seanna Mc Bennett,Jane Molloy,Aine Casey,Jade Dynes,Grainne Quigley,Sarah Quigley,Emma Conlan.

U16 Team managed by James Mc Bennett and Keiran Mc keever was very successful in becoming Division 2 league Champions.

After fine wins against Killeavy,Kilcluney,Derrynoose,Whitecross,Mullabawn and Keady,SilverBridge was the only match they tasted defeat in.They met Silverbridge in the league final in Ballyhegan in Oct 2011 and after a fantastic match won the final by 3 points.Rebecca Mc Geary and Edith Mc Cormack received the Division 2 cup on behalf of St Brigids. In the Championship,after fine wins against Whitecross and Killeavy ,they met Clann Eireann in the semi final at Eire Og.After a fine performance in the first Half,Clann Eireann went on to win the match and win the championship outright.

The Club had also the distinction of having 2 representatives on County U16 Team which competed against Cavan in the Ulster Final.Eve lavery and Rebecca Mc Geary, the latter being selected as captain of the team played brilliant in the final but narrowly lost out to Cavan By the minimum of margins.

Eimhear Cushanan also had the distinction of representing Armagh u14 and had an excellent year.

Clonmore Representatives on the St Brigids u16 team were Emma Molloy,Sarah Jackson,Orla Casey,Eimear Cushanan,Louise Grimley,Eve Lavery,Rebecca Mc Geary,Eilish Taylor,Ann Marie Cunningham,jade Dynes and Seanna Mc Bennett.

U18 Team had a fine win against St Endas to reach the Championship semi final but unfortunately lost out to Clan Eireann again after a very spirited performance.

In  league  Division 1 we had  a fine win against Armagh Harps in Clonmore but struggled for the rest of the campaign against very strong opposition, but a very spirited performance considering this was our first competitive year playing at this level.

Clonmore Representatives on the St Brigids u18 team were Emma Molloy,Sarah Jackson,Orla Casey,Eimear Cushanan,Louise Grimley,Eve Lavery,Rebecca Mc Geary,Eilish Taylor,Ann Marie Cunningham,Sarah O Hagan,Shauna Fanthorpe,Lauren Foye,Catherine Mullan.

At senior level we had 2 of our players namely Eve Lavery and Rebecca Mc Geary transfer into Ballyhegan Davitts team for their Division2 campaign.Both players contributed greatly to Ballyhegan winning the league title and need commended for this.

Both Eimhear Cushanan and Eve lavery were selected as St Brigids players of the year for u16 and Minor
