Clonmore folk put the glad rags and lipstick on last Friday night for the Annual Dinner and presentation night (the ladies also got dressed up).
Almost 180 guests turned up at the Ryandale, Moy, to help celebrate the culmination of the past years efforts both on and off the field. On show for guests to view were the plans for the development of the new community centre to replace the existing hall. Also on display were snippets, photos and clips from events and achievements from throughout the past year. After a beautiful dinner enjoyed by all, Chairman James McBennett welcomed guests and introduced guest speaker, Armagh Ladies player, Caoimhe Marley, who recently represented Ireland at the International Rules series. Caoimhe let us into the secret of her footballing success – early years watching Jack Smyth! Joe Mallon who recently stood down as team manager then spoke, Joe thanked everyone within the Club who had helped make his four years as successful as they were, James McBennett, Kevin Crossey, Paul Grimley and Marcella Molloy came in for special mention. Dominic Molloy delivered a presentation talk on the new plans, development and fundraising within the club.
Special presentations were made to Mary O’Hagan for her role in coaching the young ladies team and to Caoimhe Marley as guest of honour. The team who represented the Club in the final of the All Ireland Junior sevens received their trophies. A new Cup in memory of Niamh McKee was presented to Seanna Fanthorpe for Ladies player of the year, Senior Player of the Year went deservedly to Dominic McGeown and Club Person of the Year 2006 was collected by Seamus Cunningham. An excellent slide presentation was once again put together by Anthony Clearn. After the meal and presentations guests were entertained by the excellent Totally Hooked.
Many thanks to all those who attended and made the night a great success.
Lots of photos taken during the night can be viewed on the website.
Mass for deceased members will be held on Sunday 26 November at 10.30.
Club AGM takes place Monday 4th Dec. 7.30 in the hall.
All members are asked to make a special effort to attend both events.
