Home GAC Robert Emmet 2007 28th May 2007

The last weekend of May was a proud one for the Gaels of Clonmore, and in particular the players themselves; Brendan Donaghy and John Grimley. There is no doubt Clonmore has been put more firmly on the map due to the game in Ballybofey. On the way out of the ground many fan’s conversations were about the ability of the new recruits. Those who had seen the U21’s this year knew this, and those around Clonmore knew about one man in particular. Although Armagh were unfortunate to leave the game behind there was no doubt as to the ability of all the younger players, well done. The minors came away with the right result and we wish them and their management continued success. Here again the Clonmore club was well represented by John Grimley.

Club matters now take priority and the seniors take on Crossmaglen II in Ballymacnab on Thursday night. Due to the county game, this match had been re-fixed. Although injury has sidelined a couple of the regulars, the team are continuing to train hard under the management of James and Dominic and are up for the match. The Intermediate is renowned as the toughest of the championships and there will be no easy matches. Please come out and support the lads.

There will be no match on Friday but Sunday’s game will be on.

Another month has flown by and there is a committee meeting for Monday night (4th) at 9pm sharp. As there is a lot of work ongoing on finance this meeting will focus mainly on this, all committee members please be there early to get the meeting over on time. There is still time to suggest any changes in the proposed plans for the new hall / changing rooms.
