Several of the Clonmore team and several members of the local community got together over the past few weeks to stage their production of a wake in the west.
Once again Clonmore hall was alive with laughter and chat. It has been a few years since an event such as this has been run in the hall, and hopefully others will follow. The cast included Brendan Donaghy, Stephen Donaghy, Wes Taylor, Rosaleen Taylor, Caroline McKee, Suzanne Cunningham, Hugh McAlinden, Paul Grimley and James Grimley. Gerard Cunningham directed the production and penned the opening song on which he accompanied Niamh McBennett on Gutair. Anyone who saw the show will no doubt long remember just how good it was. The plot was funny and well written and it was a great credit to the skills of those involved to bring that across to the audience, and they did it exceptionally well. The first three nights went so well and such was the demand for tickets an extra show was arranged for last Friday. Thanks also to the backstage crew who made sure everything ran smoothly. There will be a charity quiz in aid of Marie Curie nurses to be held on Friday 6th February at 9.30pm as usual in the hall. All proceeds to this good cause, everyone is welcome. Senior men's training is on Tuesday and Friday nights at 7.30. All players are welcome |
