The long awaited Wedding in The West fund raiser took place on a sunny Saturday evening and was a huge success. The setting on the Clonmore field with the sun setting was a sight to behold. Large numbers of volunteers worked from early to late on Friday Night and again on Saturday to ensure that nothing was left to chance.
Guests arrived early and there was great praise to all concerned that the Club had paid exceptional attention to detail and that the setting and presentation was akin to a five star hotel.
The bride and groom made their high profile entry in a helicopter landing on the Clonmore playing field in full view of guests. Once guests were settled the meal was served and a video of a sketch showing the run up to the wedding.
After the meal the Clonmore Players carried out the after dinner speeches to great applause after the meal Luv Bug entertained the guests to the early hours.
The enormous effort put in by the Club members and friends in preparing and pulling off this event cannot be praised enough. To start mentioning names would take too long but the people who set up the sound system, bar, tables chairs, decorations, generators lights and were on hand Sunday to dismantle all this need particular mention. The bar staff and door men were all volunteers and nearly all from outside the club and their help was greatly appreciated. Finally The Club would like to thank our guests for their support and hope to see them back in Clonmore in the future as the fund raising is To Be Continued.
On behalf of the club we extend our sympathies to the family and friends of our member Frances Molloy on the berevement of her mother Sheila McElduff, ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
