Clonmore played their second derby match in 2 weeks this time against Annaghmore.

Playing again without several central players this was always going to a hard task for this young Clonmore side. The team lined out as follows S Grimley, R Cunningham, J Donaghy, R Donnelly, G Molloy, J Dynes, J Mullen, J Fox, J Grimley, P Hamill, D Mullen, Caolin Cunningham, Cathal Cunningham, R McBennett, C Cullen. Subs K McAlinden

Annaghmore started quickly and knocked over several points before John Grimley got Clonmore off the mark. This was quickly followed with points from Cathal and Caolin Cunningham. Oisin Mckeever then converted 2 frees for Annaghmore before half time to leave the score 7 to 3 at half time. The second half started more evenly with both teams exchanging points and with John Grimley making strong runs and some good scores from ‘Our Caolin’ and Daniel Mullan. The defence were held together well by Joe Donaghy and all gave good committment. However Annaghmore had more strength overall and in the end ran out deserving winners 14 points to 8 points. It would be wrong to criticise the team as they battled hard but it was clear that the team missed their big players. Congratulations to Brendan Donaghy and the Armagh team on their league final victory over Down.
