Clonmore defeated neighbours Collegelands on Sunday 2:13 to 0:13 with a late rally which saw them produce 2 goals and a point in a 5 minute spell.

Collegelands had held the lead for most of the match but were finding it difficult to put their dominance on the board. Dee McGeown was rock solid at fullback and with Raymond McBennett in fine form in the half backs Clonmore were in the match. James Grimley kept knocking over frees to leave the half time score was 7 to 6 to Collegland.

Joe Donaghy made a good save to deny Collegeland the dream start to the second half. Collegeland extended their lead to three points but points from James Grimley Caolin Cunningham and the very impressive Daniel Mullen kept Clonmore in touch. When Cathal Cullen scored the first goal the game changed. Clonmore raised their game and added a further goal from John Grimley to run out six points winners a margin that flattered Clonmore. Cathal Cullen sustained bruised ribs however is making a speedy recovery. Thanks to all at Collegeland for their help in dealing with the injury especially off duty paramedic Aidan Donnelly
