Clonmore Seniors played Tullysarran on Sunday afternoon hoping to get two vital points and to move out of the relegation zone.
However things got off to a poor start which James Grimley going off in the first minute with a hamstring injury. Tullysarran quickly raced into the lead and were 3 up before Clonmore got off the mark after a good run by Brendan Donaghy. Tullysarran then struck for a goal before points by Stephen Donaghy and Caloin Cunningham steadied Clonmore. Tullysarran then struck for a second goal after a mistaken in the defence. Clonmore’s defence were stretched and the impressive Corrigan in Tullysaran attack was pivotal in most moves. Half time 2-8 to 0-4. The second half was a little better for Clonmore but Tullysarran were always in control. Brendan Donaghy did have two half chances for goal but the Tullysarran defence was solid and Clonmore can have no complaints. This was a particularly good performance by Tullysarran but also for half of the Clonmore team a very poor performance. Next match Middletown away.
Underage blitz- this Saturday Clonmore host an underage blitz and help will be required at 9.30am on Saturday morning to set up the pitches and assistance will be required latter to prepare teas for spectators. If you can help please contact Mark Quigley or any committee member.
