Weekly notes 01/02/10

Clonmore GAC launched their fundraising draw on Friday night with the new Chairman of the Armagh County Board Paul Dougan in attendance.

£10,000 pounds in prize money is on offer with the tickets priced at £10 each. There are 23 prizes in total made up of 20 £200 prizes and a £1000 prize , £2000 and a top prize of £3000. The Fundraising committee have agreed on a system where by there are 20 teams each with a team leader and targets for each week to be achieved. This draw is very ambitious one but the members are confident that with the proper effort that it will be a good success. Weekly meetings are planned to organise and to motivate the teams. Anyone who would like to be on a team and to assist in this draw is asked to contact committee members. The draw date has been set for the 23 May when the new field and clubrooms are set to open. I will keep you informed of progress as the draw date approaches. Work on the new clubrooms is powering ahead with the plastering now complete and the building now secured.
The St John’s underage club team are holding a dinner in the Cohannon on Friday 12th February to celebrate their North Armagh Championship victory. Tickets are available from Mel Mullen.
The Marie Curie charity quiz is planned for this Friday Night at 9.30pm in Clonmore Hall and the club are looking for a good turn out to support this worthy cause. Teams of 4-6 with the admission £3 per person.
